Eco Sterling Silver and Copper Necklace
Finding beauty in imperfection.
Kintsugi, inspired by the Japanese art form of using golden lacquer to repair pottery, which often results in the creation of a piece even greater in beauty than it's un-repaired original.
Philosophically this is very similar to the Japanese concept of wabi-sabi which emphasises the beauty of imperfection. There is also symbolism in the piece wearing it's fault lines for all to see and being all the more beautiful for it. Both in art and in our own lives kintsugi and wabi-sabi teach us that the true path to beauty isn't through flawlessness but is instead achieved by wearing our scars proudly and using them to create something of greater depth and originality.
The stone itself is a mojave turquoise, which is constituted from pieces of turquoise bound together in a golden lacquer.
