This phrase which has transcended time and culture originates from an unknown Sufi author. It communicates a message of impermanence, in times of hardship it’s a reminder that no pain or discomfort is ever-lasting and that joy and happiness await us.

In times of happiness and abundance this phrase reminds us not to hold on too tight to what we currently have, that everything is always in flux and therefore to try to accept the inevitability of change and loss.

The flower represents the promise of spring, nature’s ability to remind us that in the darkness of winter the new shoots of life are preparing to emerge.
